Commuter exposure to fine particulate matter in private road transport modes in Salem, India

Private vehicles are high dominant mode of transport in Salem, India, since there is no any commuter personal exposure information on air pollution. This the first pollutant study different private across Salem city. In this study, critical fine particulate matter, PM2.5, was measured. addition, accumulation CO2, concentration also assessed closed vehicles. The measured were motorcycle, auto rickshaw, hatchback car, sedan sports utility vehicle and multi van. four-wheeler (car van) in-vehicle concentrations under four ventilation conditions. Student?s t-test statistical analysis carried out to determine significance level between It observed that statistically significant difference (p ? 0.05) motorcycle sedan, van, rickshaw for PM2.5 pollutant. A regression shows a strong negative correlation CO2 an air-conditioning cars.
